sashimi + ice cream cake = pure indulgence

Saturday, November 18, 2006

wow! I'm sill reeling from the wonderful dinner we had just now at Epo Sushi. It was so good! Sashimi mever tasted so good. I was deprived of japanese cuisine for 3 whole months! wonder how i survived.. anyways, the presentation of the Sashimi Platter was so appealing, and the sashimi - simply delectable! especially Salmon and mackerel. The squid and the scallop was good also! If i had brought my camera along, I would have taken pictures. But I didn't!!! Wanted to kick myself. But i'm sure i'll go back there one day, so till then...
We were celebrating Yuyun's and allan's birthday, and there were 2 icecream cakes from coldstone - one with raspberry ice cream, the other with chocolate. It was pure indulgence. And this explains why I am still up at 2.30am.
Looking forward and counting down to thanksgiving! YEAH!!

it's snowing

friday 10 November

it started raining, and raining and raining the whole morning. then sometime in the afternoon, the rain became snow. Although it was really nice to see heavy snow fall, it wasn't at all nice to be walking in the snow - having to brave the wind and bear with being bombarded with icicles...

outside my dorm, taken without flash ( i don't know why the picture came out so blur.. i tried taking a zillion times, but it just came out blur everytime. hmm :x

outside my dorm, cool effect right?

snow fall is really pretty! but it also makes it so difficult to walk about. the snow melts quickly because its not cold enough yet. And combined with all the gravel, we get sludge! try walking in sludge with normal canvas shoes. at the very least, your socks get thoroughly soaked. And if you are going through a rough day, you can complete your day by slipping and falling on the ground. i'm so glad that i got boots. Not only do they make it so much easier to trudge through the sludge, but they also make me look taller... hee hee...

yum yum.. korean dinner

Saturday, November 04, 2006

we had dinner at New Seoul Restaurant today, and it was SOOO good! I can't say how authentic the korean cuisine is, because sadly, it is my first time trying Korean food. Well, techinically speaking, it is not because I should have tried Korean food before when I went to Korea. But then, I was too young to remember, or appreciate the food, so it's not counted.

One thing that was really really, really really good about today's dinner was the spiciness of every single dish we ordered! oh man! so wonderfully spicy! I miss chilli! So far, i haven't had spicy food here - spiciness that you get a kick out of... Even the thai food here isn't spicy (WTH)... and the closest thing you get to chilli is BBQ sauce, or those cheapo 'duck chilli' from those dubious takeaways that label themselves "asian".

i'm gonna treat myself to a spicy spicy spcicy meal every week. Life without spicy food is simply depressing...
